You’ve heard of Botox, and you’ve considered its advantages – how it can restore a touch of youthful vitality to your face and is a quick fix for wrinkles and lines that doesn’t break the bank. But what if there was a treatment that lasts longer than Botox and makes a contribution to the restoration of volume to your face? Well, there is – they’re called dermal fillers.
What are dermal fillers?
Dermal fillers are a supplement of Hyaluronic Acid, which is a natural additive that the body routinely produces in order to self-regulate your skin and keep it moisturised. Over time, our natural supplies gradually diminish – and a dermal filler procedure is a simple ‘topping up’ of Hydraulic Acid.
What does the dermal filler treatment involve?
A dermal filler procedure consists of a consultation session, where clients express their desired results and the surgeon suggests the best course of action, followed by a course of injections. There may be slight bruising and swelling immediately afterwards, but they can be easily hidden with make-up.
How long do dermal filler results last?
While Botox targets the lines in a client’s face caused by facial expressions, the duration of results lasts from three to six months. Dermal fillers, on the other hand, has less of a job to do and is more of a gradual treatment – meaning the results last for up to 18 months, and in some cases, can last as long as two years.
