What does a mummy makeover involve?

There is no shortage of photos of new-mum celebs on the beach with the caption congratulating them on regaining their pre-baby body – and so quickly! They could be one of the lucky few whose body springs straight back to its former glory. Or is it that their fame and wealth allows them to have a personal trainer and chef on hand? Or perhaps they have had a mummy makeover… An increasingly popular option for women dismayed by their post-maternity contours, a mummy makeover is a combination of cosmetic surgery procedures for the parts of the body that bear the brunt of pregnancy.

1. Breast surgery:

Most women experience significant changes to their breasts after their pregnancy, all the more so if they also breastfed. Sagging boobs, uncomfortably bigger boobs, uneven boobs, loss of volume, drooping nipples, stretched and darkened areolas, and so on… During a mummy makeover consultation with Essex-based cosmetic surgeon Mr Maisam Fazel, you will discuss what it is you don’t like about your breasts and how you would like them to be. After taking your medical history and physically assessing your chest and frame, Mr Fazel will advise you on the best course of surgical action for your individual case, be it a breast reduction, augmentation or lift.

2. Tummy tuck:

Considering the changes the abdomen goes through during pregnancy, it is little wonder that it looks different afterwards. By repositioning and tightening the abdominal muscles, and removing excess saggy skin in an abdominoplasty procedure, Essex surgeon Mr Fazel can produce a flatter, toned tummy and a more pleasing silhouette.

3. Liposuction:

Many women experience a change in fat distribution but liposuction can attack those pockets of fat that stubbornly resist being exercised away: on the thighs, hips, buttock, abdomen and waist. It can also make improvement in cases where a lip of fat overhangs a c-section scar.
