Lipo: it’s not just for bodies

You’ve heard of autologous fat transfer – the procedure which removes fat from one part of the body where you don’t want it and places it somewhere you’d like it to be. But did you know you can also use that fat to bring out the best of your face and neck?

One of our most popular treatments is Liposculpting. It works along the same lines as filler procedures, but instead of using unnatural volume enhancers, grafts of fat are extracted from other areas of your body and used to restore volume to the treated area.

Fat’s where it’s at

Why is fat better than filler material? Well, not only does it last far longer than a synthetic volume enhancer, there is also zero chance of the client developing an allergic reaction to it. You’ve already been carrying the stuff around, after all.

What happens during a Liposculpting procedure?

After a consultation period, the fat is taken from the donor area with a cannula – a very thin straw-like tube. The extracted fat has been purified, into order to ensure only the fat cells remain. Then the pure fat is injected into the targeted area through another cannula.

Is it painful?

As Liposculpting is a refined, low-level version of liposuction, there’s an element of minor invasive surgery – but scarring is not a factor. You may experience mild swelling and bruising, but this can be easily minimised by icing the affected area. And remember: as no foreign materials are being used in the procedure, there is zero risk of allergic reactions.

So, if your face needs a natural volume boost, please consult our liposculpting page for further details.
