Breast implant revision surgery: it works

Breast implant revision surgery sounds like the simplest procedure in the book – take out the old implants, put in the new ones – but it’s definitely not. For starters, there are many reasons as to why a client would require replacement implants. In some cases, the client could have contracted capsular contracture – a hardening of the tissue around the implant which causes distortion of the breast.

In certain instances, the implant has ruptured and/or leaked. In extreme cases, the implant has displaced, creating an abnormal shape of the breast. And in too many cases, the client has gone to the wrong clinic and has been subjected to a substandard breast job.

Many reasons, one solution

And of course, the shelf-life of the implant could have run its course (they tend to last for ten years before a replacement is recommended), or the client has decided to enlarge (or reduce) their breast shape. So, for want of a better term, it’s not a one-size-fits-all procedure.

Similarly, the nature of the procedure isn’t clear-cut, because replacement of the implant alone is often not sufficient to correct the problem – there may be other procedures which may be required in order to attain the desired shape, such as removal of the capsule around the implant, adjusting the pocket that the implant sits in, or performing a breast lift.

We can correct and improve your shape

Consequently, it’s vital that you employ the right people for the job, because breast implant replacement surgery requires a significant amount of thought and planning to ensure patients achieve their desired look, taking into account changes that have occurred from the previous augmentation.

Our methodology is one of the simpler things about this crucial procedure. For starters, our cosmetic breast surgeon has worked with many clients who have previously undergone breast surgery elsewhere, so they’re aware of what exactly has gone awry and what needs to be done to correct it. Bottom line: whatever has gone wrong with your implants, we can correct it so call 0800 612 9177 to arrange a breast implant revision consultation.
