Lipomodelling: the silicone-free solution

Friday, October 20th, 2017, 7:46 pm

Silicone implants have been the industry standard for breast remodelling procedures for absolute decades, but they’re not for everyone. Maybe it’s because you’re one of the tiny amount of people who suffer from an allergy to silicone, or you simply don’t like the idea of carrying something ‘unnatural’ inside their body. Luckily for them, there’s an alternative – and you already possess it.

What is lipomodelling?

Lipomodelling is a procedure that takes fat deposits from one part of the client’s body and transplanting it into the breast area. The fat is usually ‘harvested’ from the thigh, tummy or buttock areas via liposuction, and then put through a process of refinement, and used to enhance and reshape the breasts by being implanted with a special tube called a cannula.

The upside of lipomodelling is that there is zero chance of the body rejecting the implanted material – after all, why would it? Not only that, but no silicone implant means no risk of implant rupture or deflation. What’s more, as the implant material is delivered via the cannula, so the length of incisions – and scarring – are far shorter than a standard implant procedure.

Put your fat where you want it to be

As with any procedure involving liposuction, there will be swelling at the donor site which will take time to settle down. Bruising and discolouration of the skin can occur, but this is usually temporary. Both treated areas can remain numb for several weeks. And as the transplanted fat is a natural material, some of it may disappear over time and may need to be replaced.

If lipomodelling sounds like a procedure you’d be most comfortable with, and are looking for further information, please consult our treatment page or call 0800 612 9177 and arrange a consultation at Mr Maisam Fazel's Buckinghamshire cosmetic surgery clinic.
