Lipomodelling: the natural way to enhance your shapeWednesday, February 8th, 2017, 11:17 am
So you want to reap the benefits of cosmetic procedures, but you’re adverse – or even allergic – to synthetic materials? Fortunately, there’s an alternative procedure which uses totally natural material – and you’re probably sitting on it right now.
Lipomodelling is a relatively new technique which involves removing fat from the client’s body – usually the buttock, thigh or tummy area – via liposuction, putting it through a process of refinement, and using it to enhance and reshape the breasts by implanting it with a special tube called a cannula. Simply put, it takes fat from a place where you don’t particularly need it, and places it where you do.
The advantages of lipomodelling over a standard breast implant are pretty self-explanatory: by using natural material taken from the client’s own body, there is zero chance of the body rejecting the implant. The risk of an implant rupture or deflation is also non-existent – and because the implant material is delivered via the cannula, the length of incisions are much shorter than a standard implant procedure.
Am I a suitable candidate for lipomodelling?
The requirements asked of a lipomodelling candidate are the same as any breast augmentation candidate:
- You’re physically healthy
- Your breasts are fully developed
- You are over 18 years old
- You are not pregnant, breastfeeding or have an infection
- You are fully aware of the procedures and effects of breast augmentation surgery
Are there any post-surgery side effects?
As with any procedure involving liposuction, there will be swelling at the donor site which will take time to settle down. Bruising and discolouration of the skin can occur, but this is usually temporary. Both treated areas can remain numb for several weeks. As the transplanted fat is a natural material, some of it may disappear over time and may need to be replaced.
